rail road.
Traveling three miles to the northwest we next came to the neat and cosy little
town of
NKW MAYSVILLE.
This little town is situated on a slight elevation, with beautiful rolling country lying on all sides. There is a great deal of sickness throughout the community at the present time, and the physicians practicing here. Drs. Owsly, Farris and Stvindall, are kept busy day and night. Two persons do a thriving business in dry goods, groceries, clothing, etc. They are represented by John Sutherlin and J. C. Oakley & Co. The latter tirni also carry a complete stock of drugs, tobacco and cigars. Geo. Hendricks does horse shoeing in first class style. Richard Coates is the only cabinet maker and joiner in the place. There are three churches in the place: The Methodist Episcopal, of which Rev. W. A. Smith, of Greencastle is pastor, the Baptist and Christian churches. ‘‘Mildrad’a Cadet; or. Hearts and Bell-Bat - tons” by Alice King Ilainilton, wile ofa United States Army OIBcor, is an unusually fascinating and origins! love story, denting spiritedly with a summer sojourn at West Point. The style Is light, breezy and delicious, the interest is continuous and absorbing from first to last, the plot is full ol telling points, and tho incidents are both strikingly romantic and novel. Tho language is crisp, the description pictarssquo, and tho ohnracters so naturally drawn that they seem ready to stop down from

‘Tho success of Coup’s Circus, which gave Noummi its final performAuce last night, was unprecedented in the annals of show business in this city. It created such a furore as was never heard of in these parts. This success was due to tho fact that it is not only the best circus on the road at the present timo. but it
is the best managed one extant.
Mr. Coup treats the public honestly, acts toward it as only a large brained, conscientious man would to a single individualbi personal dealing, and the result is confidence is established, and money flows into his coffers in an almost endless stream. Every attraction billed was seen by his tens of thousands of delighted patrons, and after the first performance the show advertised itself. No one went away grumbling that he did not get hi» money’s worth. This sort of management pay.-, and Mr. Coup will find that he has sown a crop that will reap a golden harvest. May he
come again.”
