J. F. Fee, Joe Baker and Daniel McAbee. ©aV'The young ladies of Greencastle have formed a ‘‘Cooking Club,” for the especial benefit of themselves, that they fuay acquire an experimental knowledge of the culinary art, and for the more especial benefit of the hungry young men of Greencastle and the suburbs, who are to he called in at the semi-occasional meetings of the club, to punish the edibles and prove gallant and attentive to their fair hostesses. The organization is a good one, especially if the victuals are dished up stylishly and tastefully. Wo are sorry, however, to learn that no married men are to be dined. Sisrirlru EK'iith. On Thursday afternoon of last week, as Mrs. Ma’-y Pickens, wife of Mr. James Bickens, of Jefferson township, and the aaughtcr of Mr. Louis Kollar, was returning to her home from this city, aftef the rally, and when about a mile and a half south-east of this city, she fell oter on the seat of the carriage as if faint, and died almost instantly from a violent attack of heart disease. Deceased was about forty-six years of ago, and was highly esteemed and respected by her friends and neighbors. mniriage ItciK. Pit trick-IHiiy*. Last Thursday morning, was consummated the marriage of Mr. Daniel H. Patrick, of Carmi, Ills., formerly a student of Ashury University, and Miss Nellie Hays, youngest daughter of B. F. Hays, Esq., of this city. The wedding took place at the residence of the bride’s parents, East Seminary street, the ceremony being performed by Elder 0. P. Bat’ t , assisted by Dr. E. W. Fisk. After the ceremony was pronounced, the young, handsome, and, we hope, ever to be happy couple, received the hearty congratulations of relatives and friends assembled, and then proceeded to the depot, (the bride having been married in a very stylish and tasty traveling suit of blue and old gold,) where they took the Vandalia train for Cincinnati. The bride and groom will take up their residence at Carmi, Ills., where Mr. Patrick is engaged in mercantile pursuits. We tender congratulations, with the hope that their years of married life will be many and happy.
