KrrioiiH Accident.

Last Tuesday morning a very sad and serious accident happened to Mr. Henry Helton, of Madison township. The facts in regard to it, as we learn them, are as follows: Mr. Helton’s son was driving a mower, and the former stepped before it to remove an obstruction, when the knife caught his left leg, near the ankle, and completely severed tho small bone and also the large tendon running down the leg to the heel. A messenger was immediately dispatched to this city for medical assistance, and Dr. Evans repaired to the scene of the accident and dressed the wound. At this writing Mr. Helton is getting along as well as could be expected, but it will bo a long time before the

wound is entirely healed. <>i':itiiilous Advice.

We charge nothing for the following, but we honestly believe if every citizen of Greencastle would do as suggested, our city would be even more prosperous than in th« past. It takes push to make anything succeed, and to this end the people should run the city with a vim, or leave it, and permit others to exert themselves for its benefit. Men who are all the time wanting to get out of business or out of town, will never try to build it up either. One ol two things should be done; push things, find a way or a means to put some go-ahead into business, run the town for all there is in it, get up steam, keep it up, or else quit the whole thing, vamoose the ranche, slide out and let nature have her way. TurriMu Acridunt. Last Wednesday a terrible accident befel Mr. Peter Wells, of Madison township. It seems that he was hauling wood through a pasture with a team of young horses, when a colt running on the pasture, galloped up and frightened the team, and it started off at a terrible pace throwing Mr. Wells and his son William to the ground, tho wagon running over the former, fracturing his right leg and right arm. The injuries are both what are termed by the profession compound comminuted fractures. Mr. Wells is sixty-three years old, and to a man of his age tho results of such accidents are very dangerous, though not necessarily fatal. The son, William, was severely .hurt in one of his legs, but the exact nature of his injuries wo have not learned. Drs. Evans and Preston were summoned to to give the necessary medical and surgical assistance.
