Seven important ameniimenta to the 'constitution of Indiana have been agreed j to by a majority of the members elected to each of the two house* of the fieneral i Ai semblios of 1h77 and H79, and by an [art of the last (icneral Assembly ap- , proved March loth, 1879, these said amendments are to be submitted to the [electors of the State of Indiana for ratilication or rejection, at an election to be held on the lirst Monday in April, 1880. j The law providing for the submission of these amendments to the electors of the S’atc enacts that “The Secretary of Slate shall procure ballots of blue paper on each of which *hall be printed the ‘ word ‘Yes’ in one line, and in another ine the word ‘No;’ that any qualified elector may vote for or against amendment by depositing one of said ballots in the ballot-box. If he intends to vote for any amendment he shall leave thereon tlio word Yes and erase the word 1 So by drawing a line across it, or other wise. If he intends to vote against any amendment, the work Yes shall in like ; manner be stricken out and the word No left; and if both words are allowed to re i main without either of them being so erased, the vote shall not be counted | either way.” Those amendments are {designated by numbers, and are numbered 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 5, and 1', numbers 7, and K having failed to receive the majority of | the votes of both branches of the last
