Cannon officiating in lordly style as head waiter, supported by Jake Kiefer (Flopping Beaver I as chief caterer. A Democrat reporter was made to feel at home in the wigwam and stuffed with good things until he could hardly breathe. Among t hose present from abroad were Messrs. Wo mill and Axtell of Bloomington.

W. Powell, Roachdale, has been granted a patent on a fence post. “Robin Hood” drew a number of Greencastilians ;to Indianapolis this

week.

Henry Blake, of near Manhattan, caught a carp in Deer Creek last week that weighed 81 pounds. G. W. Black, John Cawley, Loyd & Bivin and W. P. Wood & Son sold horses at Indianapolis Tuesday. “Greencastle in Poetry,” which appears in this issue will also be printed in the impression of the Democrat

of April 27.

Buyers report an improvement in the horse market. G. W. Black shipped two car loads this week to Atlanta Ga.,

and Waterbury, Conn.

Elijah Grantham sold more lots at Roachdale this week. The town seems to be enjoying a big boom. Otto Rice will build a fine brick residence there this spring. Jas. W. Hymer will also erect an elegant frame house. The G. A. R. post has appointed a committee of arrangements for memorial day, consisting of W. E. Starr, A. M. Maxon, J. F. hee, J. M. Donnohue and John A. Keller. The usual sub-corn mittees will be designated

by them.
