Jefferson Township Convention. Iii pursuance of a call of the democrat central committee of JeU'erson township they met at Providence in convention to nominate candidates for township officea. Janies H. Hurst was chosen for chairman and B. F. Spurain for secretary. The question as to whether they should receive votes by proxy was raised and voted no. There being but one candidate for trustee, Vander I>. McCamninck, he was nominated utmnimouHly by acclamation and declared the candidate for trustee. The names of James M. Wright, H. P. Runyan and Thomas Hast Ian we e presented for assessor. By motion It was decided to nominate by ballot. On the count of the ballots it was found that James M. Wright had received a majority of the votes and he was on motlov declared to tie unanimously nominated.
