Dinner Planned The Clay .Owen-Putnam Community Auction Program dinner will be December 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spencer.Owen Community School, 137 E. Hillside in Spencer. Everyone interested is invited and may bring a covered dish if they wish, but it is not necessary. Meeting Changed, The date for the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Christmas Party has been changed to Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. Groups to Meet i The St. Paul’s Fatima Rosary Groups will meet Dec. 13th. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Varvel, Greencastle R.R. 1 wish to announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Michelle Rae to Larry Adams. Larry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Adams, Greencastle R.R. 4. The wedding will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church. All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend. Leonard Phillips rites Friday Leonard Wayne Phillips, 84, Coatesville R.R.1, a retired farmer, died Tuesday in the Hendricks County Hospital. He was born near Amo on Nov. 29, 1884. He was married to Ethel Greenlee, now deceased. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Amo Friends Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert Phillips , Coatesville Rural Route, and William Harold Phillips, Fillmore, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home , Coatesville. The Rev. Dallas Rissler will officiate. Burial will be in the Coatesville cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Lela Suiter rites Saturday Mrs. Lela Eggers Suiter, 79, died Wednesday afternoon in the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, following a three week illness. She was born Oct. 14, 1889, in Putnam County, and was the daughter of Thornton and Sarah King Allgood. She married William Franklin Eggers in 1908. She was later married to Guy Suiter. Mrs. Suiter resided in New Maysville and the Roachdale communities all of her life and was a member of the New Maysville Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Irene Wolfenbarger and Mrs. Pansy Rolston, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Nela Hedge, Roachdale; A son, Ora Eggers, Greencastle; 14 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Perkins Funeral Home, Roachdale. Friends may call after 7:00 p.m. Thursday, interment in the New Maysville Cemetery.

Mary Martha Circle Mary Martha Circle of the First Baptist Church met Dec. 3rd with Mrs. Helen Samuels. Meeting was opened with listing of Xmas Carols played by record. Regular business was conducted by Mrs. Mary Bair. Eleven members answered roll call. Program was reading of “The Xmas Story” by Nell Kersey and “The Meaning of Xmas” Tree by Mrs. Mary Barr. Offering was taken for the project which was for gifts for the shut-ins. Social hour was spent receiving all Xmas gifts which was something we had made. Refreshments were served from a table decorated for the season. January meeting will be a combination of the Circles. Visiting Here Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stellings former Greencastle resident, spent the past weekend visiting friends here, they were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Earnshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stellings now make their home in Sacramento, California. Dies In Indianapolis Mrs. Margery Shoptaugh of Indianapolis died Saturday at Community Hospital, she was the wife of Glenn ShoptaughSr.,deceased. Survivors are her sons, Glenn Jr. of Colorado Springs Colorado and Frank of Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crouch atttended the funeral services. Birth Born to Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wendelboe of Winston Salem N.C. a son Kevin Marsh. Mrs. Wendelboe is the former MalindaWilliams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Williams. Bazaar Delta Gamma Sorority is having Hanna’s Holly House Bazaar. Saturday morning from 9 till 12. All profits go to Aid The Blind. Hand made articles, Christmas cards, baked goods and many other items. Mrs. James •Poor will have the program. Federated Reading Club The Federated Reading Club will meet Tuesday Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Asbury Towers.
