Tigers to hold scrimmage DePauw and Indiana Central will face each other in a controlled scrimmage game here Saturday (Sept. 14). Announcement of the NCAAapproved encounter was made by DePauw’s head football coach Tom Mont. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Blackstock Stadium. Mont said a “controlled scrimmage" means no kickoffs and alternating possession of the ball after 15 consecutive plays. During the scrim mage each team will run between 60-75 plays. The Tiger football camp this week, according to Mont, has had “no revolting develop, ments." The Tigers did, however, lose the services of soccertype kicker Dick Reidenbach who had been groomed to kick field goals. Reidenbach decided not to play football. “Mentally, I don’t believe we’re thinking much about football yet, and I don’t think we are in really good condition. The cool weather has had a real slowdown effect on us,’’ Mont said. Mont, whose team opens its season here against Wheaton Sept. 21, said he isn’t pleased with the Tigers’ passing game. “Our passing has got to improve tremendously; we just aren’t certain yet who is going to get the quarterback job done. We hope we get it straightened out soon." No admission will be charged for the public scrimmage with Central Saturday. Baseball standings American League
