--Heloise to try it and we are all amazed at the results. Mrs. Betty Lewis * * * So Avas I! I leloise « » • * DtfAR HELOISE: Am I shocking you when I say that in our family each person uses his own bath towel twice ? With five in the family and several baths each in a week, this cuts down on a great deal of washing for me. We keep our towels separate by clipping a clothespin with the first name of the person on the towel after the first use.

Then after the second use. the towel is hung to dry, with NO clothespin. This means it in ready for the washer. Economically Minded * * * DEAR HELOISE: I have two “shorty" windows. Each measures 38" high by 54" wide. It has been a problem for me to find the right length in a curtain I would like to have. I had a pair of pretty dacron curtains measuring 90” x 40" (meant for an older, narrow window). I opened each corner of the longer edge (side hem) and ran the rod through it. The curtains for which I had no use have now become useful once again. They are beautiful and full at my shorty windows. Mae * * * DEAR HELOISE: When I make a cake, I frequently bake it in one of those large rectangular pans because it is less work and quicker. The only drawback is that it is difficult to store the part that is left over as it will not fit under my cake saver oi even my largest bowl inverted My solution for this problem is to cut what’s left into twe equal pieces and stack therr on a plate (one that will fil under the cake saver). The storage problem is licked; the cake doesn't dry out as quickly and the family is delighted with “layer cake” for the second day’s dessert. Bea * * * LETTER OF THOUGHT DEAR HELOISE: Most “brides" of several years already know this to be true. But to the really new brides, let me offer a tip that’s worth its weight in gold! Many women spend a great deal of the morning in housecoats . . . usually over their nightgowns. Nothing in the world can make you feel lazier. Just try getting dressed tomorrow’ the minute you jump out of bed. Then fix your face. Not only will you get tons more accomplished during the morning, but you’ll feel better—full of energy. And you won't mind answering the
door for that early caller either! It's one of the greatest bocsters ever. I Busy Mother * * * DEAR HELOISE: Egg poacher cups are a
grand size for measuring cottage cheese for the center of fruit or other salads. The cottage cheese slides out of them easily and is just enough cheese for an individual salad. Mrs. B.

DAILY CRYPTOQLOTE — Here’s how to work it: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW
One letter simply stands for another. In this sample A is used for the three L’s, X for the two O’s, etc. Single letters, apostrophies, the length and formation of the words are all hints. Each day the code letters are different.
