DEAR HELOISE: If you have a car with leather upholstered seats, for heaven’s sakes and your sake, put one or two dark colored bath towels, preferably brown, in the car. Keep them rolled up on the floor. Then anytime you park and get out. throw them across the seats. This keeps the sun off the leather and prevents that "hot seat” problem when you sit in the car later. All you have to do when you come back to the car is remove the bath towels. 1 guarantee you, it will still be warm, but it won’t be blistering and burning like it usually is. Mrs. A. L. Burner ^ ❖ Thanks, Mrs. Burner. I’ve had that “hot seat" problem, too. Ileloise ? >f! « DEAR HELOISE: My thanks to the lady who hangs the bottom of her drapes across a clothes hanger and then hooks it on top of the rod for air at night. I use this particular hint to lift the draperies when wet cleaning my carpeting. I open all the drapes for light, put the bottom across a hanger and hook it to the rod. The draperies are then off the floor without my having to remove and rehang all of them. Char * * * LETTER OF THOUGHT DEAR HELOISE: 1 think one of the things a icuintni can do is create an island of quietness in the home. The world is so filled with conflicts and tensions, that it is to the home we must look for peace and serenity. Minister's Wife * * * DEAR HELOISE: This is what you call "satid-in-the-hair" season, and I have a wonderful suggestion for shampooing after a day at the beach.
First give the hair a good brushing Then massage the scalp with olive or baby oil. Leave this on for 20 to 30 minutes. Now shampoo with plenty of lather, rinse and set. Sure helps condition the hair after being exposed to sun and sand. Beach Lover * -T * Did you know that many people use mayonnaise! Ileloise * * * DEAR HELOISE: Now that summer is hete and cantaloupes are in season, have your readers ever tried keeping their little girls busy by letting them make bracelets or necklaces out of cantaloupe seeds? All you do is thread a needle with some white thread and knot it at one end. Next take your seeds (one or two at a timei and push the needle through them and pull them all the way down to the end of the thread where the knot is. Keep on doing this until you have the tight size. If Mom will allow, they can also try painting them after they are strung. Mrs. V. Di Camillo

LOW BACK and Associated
LEG PAIN
An estimated half million people will he disabled this year by spinal defects and injuries which cause low back and leg pain. Chiropratic Research - indicates that most low hack and associated leg pains are caused by truly mechanical defects
in the mobility and alignment of one
lower spine
In order for the spine to function as
or more segments of the a flexible posture sup-
port and provide a protective channel for the spinal cord ’’nd spinal nerves-each spinal segment or Vertebra must be in precision aligment with adjacent segments. Also a critical range of movement of each segment must be maintained by the sup-
porting muscle and ligaments.
r The delicate balance and precision movement of a spinal segment may be destroyed by a fall, accident, back strain or by chronic posture decay. The result of a structually altered spine (weak back 1 is chronic recurring back pain. Normal strain on a structurally weak back or a severe strain on a normal back may be sufficient to actually displace a vertebra. When a vertebra is forced beyond its critical range of movement it partly closes the ad jacent opening through which the spinal nerves exit the spinal cord to supply energy to all parts of the body.
The spinal nerves which supply energy to the legs pass through tiny openings between adjacent vertbrae of the lower spine is displaced the nerves which supply the legs may be compressed or irritated The result is nerve pain which ex* tends down the leg. EXPERIENCE HAS SHOWN THAT ACUTE AND CHRONIC LOW BACK PAIN RESPONDS EXTREMELY VI ELL TO THE SPECIALIZED CARE OFFERED BY THE CHIROPRATIC PROFESSION. DR. F. M. BURNS 201 S.
