Bumgardner-Holland wedding vows

The First Church of the Nazarene was the scene of a candelight service which united Sandra Kay Holland and Danny Joe Bumgardner in marriage. The Rev. O.W. Wilson officiated during the double-ring ceremony, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cliarles C. Holland, Morton. Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Bumgardner, 807 Lincoln Ave., are the parents of the bridegroom. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a sheath

gown of organza and lace. It was styled with a high yoke and long tapered sleeves ending in bridal points. The neckline and front were decorated with tiny seed pearls. The Watteau pleat became the full length train which came to a ftill flair. A crown of lace, which matched her gown, secured the veil of illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. Cheryl Bumgardner was

matron of honor. She was gowned in a floor-length gown of aqua lace over taffeta with long tapered sleeves. She wore a white bow headpiece with blue net and carried a nosegay of salmon pink carnations. The flower girl was Ray June Bumgardner, niece of the bridegroom. She was attired in a gown of aqua lace over taffeta with bell-shaped sleeves. Her hat was fashioned with aqua lace with net. She carried a nosegay of salmon pink carnations.

Rains weaken fear of August drought

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (UPI)Most areas of Indiana received enough rain last week to help carry most crops through any drought that might develop in August, a weather expert said Monday. State climatologist Lawrence Schaal said the state was liber, ally watered in a series of showers and thundershowers last week, and the four.week averages indicated the topsoil

and subsoil moisture supplies in most areas were adequate. The rainy weather may have improved the moisture situu. tion, but it didn’t help larmers harvesting small grains. Agricultural statistician Robert Straszheim reported that the rain last week interfered with progress of the grain harvest. He said wheat combining reach, ed the 90 per cent completion mark.
