two trains WASHINGTON (UPI) — The Interstate Commerce Commission today gave Penn Central permission to discontinue two passenger trains between Logansport, Ind., and Louisville, Ky. However, the ICC ordered an investigation into Penn Central’s request to drop another train between Chicago and New York and another between Pittsburgh and Chicago. Penn Central was authorized to drop Trains No. 94 and 95 between Logansport and Louis, ville on April 21. The proposed date for discontinuing No. 50 between Chicago and New York and No. 53 between Pittsburgh and Chicago was postponed from April 21 to Aug. 21. Penn Central said it wanted to drop the train runs because of a lack of sufficient numbers of passengers and a resulting revenue loss.
