DEAR HELOISE:
I have to take my lunch every day as I'm a construction engineer and there's no place to buy it. Anyone who carries their own lunch might like to try my
method for a change.
There are several varieties of junior and baby food meats on the market today, and I use 'em to make my own delicious sandwiches. I take a jar or two in my lunch pail and open them a: work. Then spread it on my bread, add pickles, lettuce and
tomatoes.
They are inexpensive and extremely convenient because the jar doesn’t have to be kept cool to avoid spoilage. Fruits vegetables can be carried too.
Irons beautifully, too. MRS. T. L. C. * • 4 DEAR HELOISE: My hint is to use nylon kite string for mending Venetian blinds when the threads have broken. It takes only one strand to hold the slate in place on the tape and it never breaks while cleaning or waxing later, sure saves. MRS. L. ELLIS
DEAR HELOISE: I am a bachelor dog lover. I have a dog which goes with me in the car most of the time. He has ruined the inside enamel on the doors of my last two cars by standing in the seat with his paws on the window frame. I had a neighbor who told me that I should buy a baby car seat that fit over the back of the seat and put some thick cloth over the leg openings. The dog would eventually learn to sit in the baby seat so that he can look out of the window. It's true, he did and does. Within o ne week my dog learned to jump in his seat and sit quietly while we were driving. It makes driving safer as I don’t have to watch for my dog to jump out of the window or get in my way.
