their reports at a supper meeting |

Dear Folks: I get many letters from people who have had a nose bleed or perhaps cut their hand and can’t remove the stains from their clothing. Well, I'd like to tell you about something I did recently when It happened to me. I got a spot of blood on a white garment and did not notice it for about an hour. It was just about dry by that time! In fact, it piobably was. I picked up a small bottle of three per cent hydrogen 1 croxide solution (which costs less than 20 cents at my drug store) and put a terry cloth wash rag underneath the spot. Poured the peroxide on top of the spot and watched it foam away! When I saw the blood dissolving I took my fingernail and scratched the little bubbles, then poured more peroxide on the spot. Next I poured peroxide on a facial tissue and rubbed the top. When the blood startled to sink into the terry cloth lag, I used a clean rag. Continued this and within tw r o minutes, the spot was gone. Imagine that 7 Be careful what you use this method on because some materials are not colorfast. Just be sure you SPOT TEST a corner or a hidden facing first. I have since used this on pillow slips, etc., and it worked every time. Heloise a • • • Dear Heloise: As my kindergartner has trouble tying his shoes. I simply removed the laces inserted nariow elastic and sewed the ends. Now his shoes slip off and on easily. Sure solved a big problem for him. Peggy a • a a Letter of Thought Dear Heloise: If you stood by a canyon and

shouted I HATE YOIT, an echo would answer I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU. If you shouted I LOVE YOU, the echo would answer, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE VQU. So you see, what you give in this life you will receive three-fold-sometimes more. Mrs. Ravmond Balogh * * * * How true . . . how true. . . a Heloise • • a a Dear Heloise: In a recent column you printed a helpful hint for inserting a left-out letter with a typewriter (or correcting an erroneous one). It stated that all you need to do is reinsert the paper, put the typewriter on stencil and line up the paper according to the impression left by the key. This is all good and true. But what about the typewriter without. a stencil setting? In that case the answer is an easy one also. Use a window envelope or tha cellophane from a cigarette package. Cut out a small piece of cellophane and place it over the intended letter. Then type the letter and you will be ab!e <o tell just exactly where It will appear on the final copy by the impression without It printing. Legal Secretary a • • a Dear Heloise: For those who love poached eggs, I wonder If they have ever tried poaching them in milk? Our whole family just loves them this way. And the milk need not be wasted. Just pour It In a jar and place in the refrigeratot This can be used for seasoning mashed potatoes, making cream sauces or cream gravy! W. B.
