NEW YORK UPI-Hal Greer said he felt a little funny being introducer before the National Basketball Association’s All-
Star game.
“There was little ol’ me standing out there with all those big guys with big legs. Jerry West was laughing at me,” Greer said. After the East routed the West 144-124 in the 18th annual classic at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night before the largest All-Star crowd in history, 18,422, no one was laughing at Greer, a spindly 6-foot. 2inch backcourtman from the Philadelphia 76ers. Hitting on seven of seven field goal attempts and 14 straight points in the third quarter, he broke open the game and walked off with the Most Valuable Player trophy.

‘Entanglements.. • Nothing’s more frustrating than a kitchen drawer full of appliance cords which seem to go out of their way to tangle themselves. An easy solution is to put each cord inside a cardboard roll from kitchen towels, foil, etc A marking pen also makes it easy to identify each tube as to
the cord it contains.
c4 Stick in Time If wall paper comes loose from the wall, stick It
back as soon as possible with a dab of library paste. If you delay too long, the paper will become dry and brittle and will tend to crack when you do bend it back into place.

Greer, who played five minutes in the first half, contributing one field goal, sat out the fourth period as John Havlicek and the rest of the starstudded East squad turned the game into a rout. Havlicek led the East with 26 points compared to Greer's 21, but the 76ers’ star was an overwhelming choice as MVP in a poll of sportswriters.
Havlicek and Oscar Robertson, of the Cincinnati Royals, combned for 25 points as the East jumped to a 64-59 halftime advantage while Los Angeles Laker teammates Elgin Baylor and Jerry West kept Coach Bill Sharman’s club within reach. Then in the third period, East Coach Alex Hannum sat down Dave Bing, the league’s No. 1 scorer from the Detroit Pistons, and started Greer with Robert-
son in the East’s backcourt. With West hitting jumpers, the Western stars bounced back and went ahead 73-71 and 75-73. Greere made a pair of free throws to tie the game at 75, then hit his 14 points in a row, capping it with a three-point play to give the East an 87-79 advantage. The East boosted Its lead to 101-91 after three quarters and, paced by Jerry Lucas and Hav-
Icek, poured it on in the final period. Baylor topped the West with 22 points and his Laker teammates, Archie Clark and West, had 17 each. Wilt Chamberlain, of th« 76ers. in a self-sacrificing gam* in which he scored only seven points while decoying defenders, raised his right hand in th* dressing room and said triumphantly: “I’ve made another MVP.”
