week and purchased a new car. While close to Coatesville, Mr. Powell drov~ into town for a abort visit with his former n e i g h b ors, Mr. and Mrs. Bottorff. Mrs. Powell had been ill with the flu and was confied to the home in Franklin. As soon as she felt well enough, they planned to return to Florida until late spring. Every so often the town has a case or two of break-ins and that very thing happened a

week ago. The Farm Supply Is often caught in hiest as well as | the Brown Drug Store. Along with the robberies in Coatesville, Amo business houses were also hit. There was a break-in I at the Bill}’ Joe Herrin Garage where gun shells, tobacco and other items were taken. Maybe I the thieves will blunder one of these nights and leave some identification mark that will trap him or them, but so far they come and go untouched.

Mrs. Lucille Hasten was hostess to the Friday Club on the afternoon of January 19. The members answered roll call with their assigned Bible topics. For the program, Mrs. Mabel Davidson took the club with her on her Fall Color Tour of New England with numerous pictures and colored slides. The members were taken over the route that led through West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. Some of the main points of interest were Mystic Seaport, Newport, Cape Cod,

Plymouth, Boston, Old Salem, Bedford Springs, West Point, Yale University, the marble | quarries of Vermont, the Amish farms and last but not least Coatesville, Pennsylvania. The trip was an interesting one to all members. The hostess entertained durI ing the social hour. Albert Hubble was able to return to his home Saturday ! from the Putnam County Hospital where he spent several days. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lyon are the parents of a son born January 6 at the Putnam Coun1 ty Hospital.

Steven Hanlon, a student at Indiana State University, called on Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hanlon last Sunday. He came after attending a family dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Otha Miller of Fillmore. Steven is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hanlon of Fairmount. The Sundays of January 21 and 28 are “Together” magazine days.
