The only thing the Clovers

have on them Is bench strength and the prestige of three wins in

the last three times the clubs have met.

Cloverdale’s big weapon is 6-4 Rick Ford. Ford does everything for the group from rebounding to scoring 80 points per game. He has averaged 26.7 points per game each time his team has played the Pointers and was responsible for breaking the press Bainbridge used at Cloverdale earlier this year. the Clovers again.

Bainbridge has tw r o of the most talented guards in the area in Norman Steele and Gary Richard. Steele is a senior who averages 20 a game and Richard a sophomore with a 14 point average. If the two meet, they will be up against Clover guards Jerry McCullough and Dave Nees, who are both capable of twenty point nights. Forward Jim Hanks, a lanky 6-3, will more than likely draw the defensive assignment against Ford, leaving 6-9 Fred Cox against Cloverdale’s 6-3 Ron Barker and 6-2 Gary Judy guarding 6-2 Jim Staley. Hanks did a tremendous Job on Ford during the earlier season game and held him under ten points until coach Pat Rady put the Pointers into a zone. Ford stepped outside the sone and started unloading wuth twenty-five footers and scored 22 points before the game was over. Seems a little awkward to be talking about Cloverdale playing Bainbridge when first of all the Clovers have to get by Reelsnille. And maybe we had better back up. Myers.

The hearing concerns a petition from the IHSAA asking supplemental action in connection with a previously issued

writ to Myers.

The first order from the high court directed the Fort Wayne judge to take no further action in a case Involving a Fort Wayne North High School athlete and a contempt action against the ISHAA and North principal Dr. William Anthis. However, a later clarification from the Supreme Court held that the contempt case still was under Myers’ jurisdiction. Myers issued an order Tuesday giving Anthis and IHSAA

case, saying it w r as hurting the school. The younger Schumaker was barred from athletics for accepting merchandise in a nonsanctioned golf tourney. North officials have made formal application of reinstatement in the IHSAA, but officials of the organization said its board of control would not consider the case until the contempt cita-

tion is lifted.
