Coatesville Home Economics Club meets

The Coatesville Home Ec Club met at the library November 14th. Hostesses were Mrs. Christine Wallace and Mrs. Marjorie Bryant. Mozella Alice helped serve as Mrs. Bryant could not be present. In the absence of our president, Pearl Bowen, who is ill, Mrs. Mozella Allee presided. Devotions were given by Mrs. Icy Bridges. The history of the song of the month was read by Mrs. Allee and Mrs. Dorothy Winton played the piano for the group to sing. Responses were on Thanksgiving. A picture of an old time family Thanksgiving dinl ner was shown and discussed by Mrs. Lorena Lasley and everyone joined in with some thoughts on the preparation of

INDEPENDENT AGENTS WIN TOP AWARDS—The Putnam County Independent Insurance Agents Association won the two top awards in the state at the Convention of Independent Agents held last week in Indianapolis. Ray R. Brush, president of the Putnam County organization, accepted the awards for the Best Local Board in the state and the Herman C. Wolff achievement

trophy for the local Association which secured the greatest amount of favorable publicity. Mr. Brush expressed his appropriation for the cooperation and assistance extended by the advertising media in the Greeneastle area. Some things mentioned were, the turkey from a freezer instead of from the barn lot, bread baked In the kitchen instead of from a bakery, pumpkin for the pies from a can instead of cooked from the raw pumpkin, bought mince instead of from home killed meat and home raised fruit, no instant coffee or potatoes but likely the biggest difference of all was, no wood to carry in and no ashes to carry out. Everyone remembered how good the old time Thanksgiving dinners were. During the business meeting a letter was read asking whether we want a change i.i achievement day. Should the time be changed to afternoon

and evening and should we change the entertainment. Our club suggested no changes be made. The December meeting will be a luncheon and the installation of officers.

Musical Fouls MADRID UPI — When the National orchestra of Spain meets the symphony of the Spanish radio and television Wednesday in a soccer match, even the fouls will be musical. The referee, a member-in-good-standing of the brass section, has promised to signal each foul with an indignant raspberry on his trombone.
