Dear Heloise: Believe it or not . . . nylon net as a lining inside a plastic shower curtain is NOT cold when it touches your body! We have such a small shower and that cold plastic made us
jump.
No sewing to do, just cut nylon net to size and put the curtain rings through the net holes and let It hang. After months, it still looks like new and no mildew. Mrs. L. Owen • • • • I had to collect my wits and gulp when I read that one. But guess what? It works.

• • • • Dear Heloise: When showing pictures from a slide projector and your room is too small to get a good size picture, try this: Place your screen on the same side of the room as the projector. Then put a large mirror across the room and have It at a slight angle facing the screen. Shoot your pictures against the morror. Be sure to put the slides in the projector BACKWARDS so that they will be in the right position on your screen. Your picture will DOUBLE in size by using the mirror because of the increased distance of projection. This procedure has been used in recent years by many Army schools. The projector is placed in a small enclosure behind the podium. The screen is very large and the projection must be large also in order for all the students to see it. So they use a mirror to accomplish this.

Dear Heloise:
For those people who have cabins or summer homes they close for the winter: To keep toilets from freezing, turn off the water at the meter, open freeze plug and drain. Then drain hot wate tank with garden hose by attaching it to faucet at bottom of the tank.
Dip out surplus water In the commode water tank and add one quart of anti-freeze. Put another quart in the toilet. Next, pour about a pint of antifreeze in each water trap under the wash basin, bathtub and kitchen sink. All this prevents damage to the plumbing where it usually freezes and breaks. I find antifreeze far cheaper than repairing broken pipes at today’!
prices.
Margaret Holder • • a * Dear Heloise: 1 found that the cuffs of all my sweaters were stretched. So I got some elastic thread and ran it through the wrong side of the suffs, drawing the ribs close together. Now I can push the sleeves up on my arms or down on my wrists and they don't stretch out of shape.

* * * * Letter of Laughter Dear Heloise: One day we were going somewhere right after dinner, so I decided to just soak the dishes. The children were in a hurry to get started. I said. “All right, as soon as I Heloise these dish-
es.”
My husband said, “Heloise?” My nine-year-old said, “Oh, Daddy, that’s French for wash!” Mrs. Douglas Lee • • • • Dear Heloise: I have a forced hot air furn-
ace.
Each year I buy the large glass filters that are used In air conditioners, remove them from their frames and cut them in half. I put one In each of my floor outlets under the grate. They are pretty thin and don’t restrict the flow of warm air, but you would be amazed how much dust is trapped in the filter when I remove it each week or so. F. S. Dorchester
