De Gaulle invited Wyszynski to an official reception the French president is giving upon his return to Warsaw early next week. However, it was a matter of speculation whether the Polish primate would attend for fear of casting a shadow on de Gaulle’s political discussions with Polish leaders.

will enter primaries in New Hampshire, Oregon, Nebraska and Wisconsin. A Nixon chairman for Indiana will be named later. Running against token opposition, Nixon drew 408,408 votes in the 1960 Indiana primary. His name was not entered in the 1964 Hoosier primary. Indiana Republican leaders said they were not surprised by the announcement although some indicated they had not expected the announcement this early. In making the announcement. Bellmon appealed to the GOP National Chairman Ray Bliss and members of the national committee to reject the “Nixon can't win” argument based on his losses in the 1960 presidential race and in the 1962 California gubernatorial campaign. He urged GOP leaders to tell “negativists in our own party who knock Nixon by parroting the old canard ‘he can’t win’ that their hours would be better spent building for a Repub- j lican victory in 1968.”
