Bainbridge Saddle Club Meets
Time really flies, doesn’t it? Here it is the last of August and with fall just around the corner it’s time to get out and enjoy this wonderful weather as long as it lasts. First thing I would like to extend congratulations from all the Cub to those who rode in the 4-H Horse and Pony Show. There are some fine horsemen coming on in this group. We are all really proud to see these young folks we know do such fine work with their horses and. ponies, not only locally but in open competition as well. Our monthly meeting was held at the club grounds Saturday, August 12, at seven o’clock. Talk throughout the evening centered around the entertainment that had been arranged.

The folk singer turned out to be a stranger to no one. After the business meeting Jeff Blue brought out his guitar and sang and played for us. He started at a little after 8:00 and continued until almost 11:30. Everyone, even the long time members agreed that it was the first time no one had gone home early. The evening was cool and we all gathered closely round the fire to listen. Jeff sang folk songs and college songs and then answered requests from the members. Babies went to sleep wrapped in blankets on their parents’ laps, young ones dozed off soon after but still no one made a move to leave until the guitar was put away. Herschel invited Jeff to come back any time and all the members agreed that it couldn’t be too soon. Incidently, Lucy Jordan woh the door prize this time. It was donated by Bill and Clema Perkins. Bill had told everyone it was a cat he wasn’t wanting

Come early and stay late, we’re all pretty friendly people and if you like horses, we would enjoy getting acquainted with you. See you there and at th# horse show. Janet Olivet

Wall Street Chatter
NEW YORK UPI—Homblower & Weeks-Hemphill, Noyes says it expects the various technical indicators to move into favorable territory before long, and if they do, it feels the Dow Jones industrial average may advance toward the 940 level. It suggests that investors use the present time to upgrade their equity holdings. Alexander Hamilton Institute
Inc. says a continuation of the lessening demand in the stock market after Labor Day would be a “clear warning signal which should not go unheeded.” The analyst says it believes the market should stage at least a technical rally in the next few sessions or else the bright outlook for the rest of 1967 will be tarnished.
C. B. Richard Ellis & Co. says certain high flyers are in an over-sold condition and seem ready for strong rallies. Regarding the stronger issues in this group, the company says it anticipates the possibility of new highs “in the very near future.”
SET RECORD VERDUN, France UPI—West German Heinz Amz, 70, established a new piano playing endurance record of 1,070 hour* Tuesday, breaking his old mark by five hours. Arnz had played the piano in a Verdun bar for the past 48 days and 14 hours with only two hours of sleep each night.

Barb Ellis (2) Lucy Jordan (3) Donna Burdett (4) Lynn Brown. Saddle club gossip for the month indicates that there are some good horses exchanging hands about now'. Bob Walls has sold his good little contest gelding. Sugar and also his tack and trailer. Phil Sow’der sold his Palomino mare, Velvet and is offering his trailer for sale. I heard that Velvet has already won some ribbons for her new owner. Jesse Tillotson had hard luck with one of his young mares. She injured herself while being loaded into the trailer. Darrel Elmore, who has been working with her, says it will probably be spring before she can get back into intensive training. The Tom Webb family have been showing at the State Fair and probably there are several others up there too. I’ll try to have a full report on the ex' hibitors and their placings put together for you next month. Our local horsemen are good enough to bring home a few ribbons from there so the report should be good. Next meeting night will be Saturday, Oct. 9. Bring your-

It’s great! Now, you can buy up to twice a$ much for the same monthly payment. For instance, $5 a month used to buy only $50 worth of merchandise. But now it buys $100 worth. As a result, you can buy more of everything now! Back-to-school clothes for the children, new clothes for you, storm windows for your home, snow tires for your car.. • whatever you need or went most. If Wards sells it, you can "charge it.” And Wards sells everything!
