Jim Stewart, who was sold to the Chicago White Sox Monday, scored one of the runs in his last game with the Indians. He leaves today. The big third started when pitcher Cisco Carlos led off with a single to left, Buddy Bradford got a base on balls, and Jim Stewart singled to center, loading the bases. Then Jim Hicks tripled off the right center field wall to score the three baserunners, and then stole home when shortstop Umberto Fernandez threw the ball over first base into the Indians’ dugout. Carlos nearly had a shutout against Tacoma, but lost it when Tacoma rallied for two runs in the ninth, and Roger Nelson replaced him. Carlos picked up the win for Indianapolis and Tom Mandile taking the loss for Tacoma.
