A tornado was sighted early today in rural Crawford County, Iowa, but it was not reported to have touched ground. In Lacrosse, Wis., early today a deluge of heavy rain continued in the wake of marblesized hail that knocked out power in much of the city and left a trail of damage. Hail was reported piled up to six inches high late Thursday night, and hundreds of trees in Lacrosse were felled by the storm and high winds. Water was reported at least two feet deep in the streets, and road travel was considered dangerous. The fury of the storm knocked a Lacrosse radio station off the
air.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were posted for parts of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle in a radius around the Nebraska storm
center.
Rain and thunderstorms were scattered across much of the nation today, in the Plains, the north and central Rockies, northern New England and
Florida.
Only the South enjoyed generally clear weather, though in pockets across the Midwest the summer’s first siege of belated sunshine was undiminished.

He may easily have a hand with one ace that provides twelve sure tricks, or a hand with two acaa but no possibility of twelve tricks. 4. Six spades. Some people insist that a player with no aces cannot initiate the Blackwood convention. There is very little merit to such a theory. A slam Is a slam — even if one player has no

Control: Spray with any of the following fungicides at the Mfr’s suggested rate: Bordeaux mixture; Puratized Agricultural Spray; Tag 331; or Captan.
