This is one of those surething propositions where you can guarantee the contract re- -- gardless of how the adverse " cards are divided. Obviously, the only danger is that the spades are divided 4*1 (or 5-0), so what you must do is guard against that distribution. (If the spades are divided S-2, you give up a . 1' spade and easily make the con-

tract.)

After winning the aoe of dia aaonds, cash the A-K of hearts and the A-K of spades. If it ^ turns out that North has the four spades, lead a club and finesse the nine. Even If South (01187. Bag

Central Indiana—Water In Morse Reservoir in Hamilton County is in good condition again and fishing is improving. Crappies have been biting on minnows and Jigs. Blue gills are fairly nice on worms. Bass are taking artificial bait and minnows. Catfish are taking almost everything. White River in central Indiana is in good Condition generally for carp and eatfish. AS streams are up and muddy in east central Indiana. Despite this fishing is good in Prairie Creek Reservoir in Delaware County. Bass and walleyes are taking artificials. Grapples are going for minnows, and bluegills are biting on worms. At Kokomo Reservoir crappies and bluegills are being caught on minnows and worms. A few bass are being brought in with artificials and night crawlers. Water is still above pool state at Monroe Reservoir. It is

wins with the jack, he must give you the reet of the tricks. He is bound to return either a club, permitting you to discard both spade losers, or a. diamond, permitting you to discard one spade on the diamond return and the other on the ace of clubs. Now let's imagine Booth bee the four spades. In that ease, lead a club to the ace and return the queen. If South follows low, discard a spade, thus endplaying North. He must lead a club or concede a ruff-discard. If South covers the queen with the king, ruff It, cross to dummy with a trump, and lead the ten of clubs. Discard if South follow* low, and ruff if South covers with the jack. Either way, you are euxe of a twelfth trick. 2. It would be wrong to finesse a spade at this point, because, if it lost, you could go down, losing four hearts and a spade. The sure way Is to lead a heart and discard a diamond on it. This permits you to cash the remaining diamonds later— something you can’t do now because the suit is blocked. The first two tricks revealed that North had at most five hearts. The worst that can happen on the line of play recommended is that you lose four heart tricks. rm fljradloata lao.)
