Mrs. Steve K&riozi • • • • Dear Heloise: For double beds with one head board: When beds are pulled apart the wheels usually make marks on floors, especially on tile' floors. I covered the oustide of all wheels with adhesive and now when I move the beds I have no marked floors. Betty Rodrick • • • • Dear Heloise: After my youngest child outgrew his carriage, I had about six good baby blankets that I didn’t know what to do with. I cut off the ribbon, folded them in half and trimmed them with a colored binding that matched my bathroom. They made wonderful drip pads for the children to stand on while drying after a bath. Mrs. L S. • • • • Dear Heloise: I keep an extra-large salt shaker filled with flour in the cabinet above my kitchen counter. This is much easier to use than getting out the sifter when I have a small job to do . . . such as sprinkling the board with flour before kneading biscuits, or sprinkling flour between each layer of sliced potatoes when making scalloped potatoes, etc. Sue Maschke • • • • Dear Heloise: Before dyeing or tinting curtains or garments, run a few strings of white cotton thread through the hem so that they are dyed with the rest of the material. After dyeing they may be pulled out ana rauea cm a spool to be used for later mending or hemming. They will exactly match the color of the article when the need arises. Miss Dusty H. * • • * Dear Heloise: Being long-waisted, I cut off the belt loops on all dresses ao I can adjust the belt to my liking. Rather than throw the loops away, I sew them on the inside

of my shoulder seams, put on a snap, and have custom-made bra and slip strap-holders. Elsa Kilpatrick
