VIET ’COPTER CREWS GET DUST-BLANKETER AKRON, Ohio UPI — One hazard facing helicopter crews in Vietnam—blinding clouds of dust stirred up by the rotor blades on takeoff and landing— has been solved with the use of v i n y 1 - surfaced tarpaulins to blanket landing areas. The Navy recently purchased 165 of the protective tarpaulins, to be used on helicopter landing sites. They keep down dust and vegetation which had been hampering emergency rescue and other operations.
