List Color Combinations on Homes

Homeowners are Increasingly turning to color for the exteriors of their homes. White is still in first place but light greens, beige, light gray, yellow and coral are growing in popularity. Charcoal and dark reds and greens trail in a recent survey conducted among leading manufacturers of aluminum siding. The order of preference is white, light green, beige, light gray, yellow, coral, dark gray, barn red and dark green. The swing to more color on home exteriors has created a new interest in selecting harmonious colors for roofs, windows, shutters, doors and trim. Color is a personal matter but there are-certain fundamental guideposts homeowners can

follow for pleasing results. Here are some suggestions: White Siding — roof, dark color; windows, white; shutters, dark gray, black or dark green; door, yellow, slate, red, black or blue. Light Green Siding — roof, dark color; windows, same as siding or white; shutters, dark green, slate, gray-green or white; door, orange, deep blue, slate or yellow green. Beige Siding — roof, deep brown; windows, same as siding or white; shutters, black, deep ocher (yellow-red) or any shade of brown; door, tan, orange, black, ocher, never a cool color. Light Gray Siding — roof, deep slate, gray or charcoal; windows, same as siding or white; shutters, black, charcoal,

deep blue green; door any color. Yellow Siding — roof, deep brown, gray, black or white; windows, same as siding or white; shutters, black, deep ocher; door, tan, orange, ocher, black or any warm color. Coral Siding — roof, dark brown; windows, same as siding or white; shutters, medium gray; door, gray or rose beige. Dark Gray Siding — roof, black or charcoal; windows, white, never use siding color; shutters, yellow, blue green, white, ocher, good yellow. Dark Red Siding—roof, black, slate or charcoal; windows, white; shutters, white; door, white. Dark Green Siding — roof, black, charcoal or dark green;
