Potted Plants BEAUMONT, Tex. UPI — Carey Lee Thomas, 46, was doing a fine job as gardner at a motel—too good a job, in fact Police, following a week of surveillance, arrested Thomas and charged him with planting 15 marijuana plants around the swimming pool and in flower beds. Mexican Troops Hold Hermosillo HERMOSILLO, Mexico UPI— Mexican army paratroopers today effectively held control of riot-scarred Hermosillo In the border state of Sonora south of Arizona. As the heavily armed troops patrolled the streets of Hermosillo, federal agents rounded up an undisclosed number of what a government spokesman called “professional agitators.” Hermosillo has been shaken by two months of rioting over a controversial candidate for state governor, Faustino Felix Serna. Mild Weather Today In State Temperatures hit the 70s Wednesday and were scheduled to reach the 80s downstate today as Indiana’s Hoosiers, chilled by a cool wet spring, finally drew some benefits from a southwesterly flow of warm air. High Wednesday included 75 at Chicago, 73 at Evansville, 72 at Louisville, 71 at South Bend and Lafayette, 70 at Indianapolis and 69 at Fort Wayne and Cincinnati. Forecasts called for highs today ranging from the mid 70s north to the low 80s south. Perish the thought that the warmth is permanent. The weatherman said it will be a little cooler Friday, with highs ranging from the upper 60s to the upper 70s, and Saturday will be even cooler than Friday. Unfortunately, the warmer weather was expected to produce more showers, than which there could be nothing worse for anxious farmers already far behind in their spring field work. There was a good chance of showers tonight and Friday throughout the state. But it will be mostly sunny today, and it will turn mostly fair again Saturday. Overnight lows this morning ranged from 48 at Louisville and 49 at Fort Wayne to 52 at South Bend and Evansville. Lows tonight will range from the low 50a to the upper 50s. J
