Dear Editor: Somewhere in the efforts of Lyle Wilson (National Window —Opinion, The Daily Banner, Monday, May 15, 1967, page 7) lies a feeling of guilt for our former concept of Constitutional government. What is this “booby trap” that the autocrats (liberals, and the New Left) are ashamed or afraid of? What Is meant by his five dollar word, “overkill?” Could it possibly be that we have a system of dictatorship hanging over us? Could it possibly be that our government of the people, by the people, and for the people is actually more than destroyed? What Is wrong with local State governments (the only legal recourse the people have) asserting their sovereignty by calling for a Constitutional Convention? Is it evil for our states to proclaim the will of the people? What about consensus ? Where are those staunch defenders of “democracy?” The light of freedom is being suppressed around the world, but let us not be guilty here in America of allowing the light to be turned off. Freedom is being threatened today with autocratic world government (UNO) and world religion (WCC). • - Let us “trim our lamps” and work for strong local government. For Christ and America (Freedom), James O. Jester R. R. 2 Coatesville, Indiana

Dear Heloise: We just had our first baby. My wife was given many showers, but the greatest gift of all was a little card which said, “This entitles you to two weeks of free diaper service!” Why don’t you tell others about this? Jim’s Daddy • • • • Now this is really something needed. When you stop to think about it, any Mother who comes home with a new baby has so much to do and Papa has so many bills . . . that this would be about one of the most appreciated gifts. Mother doesn’t realize it at the baby shower— but she will weeks later! When that little darling cries, the formula has to be fixed and Mother’s tired. Just think of how many times she’s going to bless you because she doesn’t have to wash those didies. Fourteen consecutive days! Isn’t that wonderful? And thanks, new father, for letting us hear from you. Now go kiss your sweet offspring for us all. And congratulations to all three! Well, how do you get rid of them? Bertrand Tiddle a • • • We buy powdered sulphur at our local garden shop (quite inexpensive) and sprinkle it on our grass. I don’t know where the red bugs go, but we don’t scratch anymore. Sure works for us. Jane Anderson o o • a Dear Heloise: Six months ago I decided that my backlog of ironing just bad to go. This was the one thing about housework that was Just plain drudgery. Having three girls in school to keep dresses ready for and a little boy at home, the job seemed immense &nd endless.
