Georg® McCammack, well known farmer met with a serious accident Friday evening when his tractor overturned working on his farm. When he did not return home at the

The sermon was presented by Rev, Arthur Bowser, pastor of the New Providence Church. The Commencement exercises will be held Tuesday evening May 16th. The

Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hine of Martinsville were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ratts Thursday evening. Mrs. Florence Buis visited her sister, Mrs. Grace Sackett in Cloverdale Saturday. *1116 baccalaureate services of the Eminence High School was held Sunday afternoon. A large crowd was present. Mr. and Mrs. V. V. McCammack were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Buis Tuesday evening. Mrs. Lola Vaughn and Mrs.
Mrs. Zella Cummings spent Sunday with Mrs. Blanche Vaughn. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Day of Fillmore were here Sunday having dinner at “Alpha’s.” The Union Valley Sunday School presented the oldest and youngest mothers with lovely flowers Sunday morning at the services. The Mothers and Daughters of the New Providence Church held their banquet at the Long Branch Cafe at Mecca, Indiana, Thursday evening. A lovely din-
ner was served country style. Devotions were given by Mrs. Guy Gaston Sr. The committee planning the dinner party were Mrs. Bowser, Mrs. Mary Shumaker, Martha Cash, Jean Neumeister and Zella Cummings. There were forty-one present besides the guests, who came from Brazil, Danville, Dana, Shephardville and Greencastle. Entertainment was furnished by Mrs. Chole Jinks who displayed a number of hats, with a story for each one. All left at a late hour after a very enjoyable evening. Word has been received here of the death of Lowell E. Baker
of Brooklyn, N. Y. Having passed away Thursday. He was a cousin of Agnes Robinson and a brother of Beulah Ramsey of Indianapolis. The writer of this column was happy to meet Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Hill at the Putnam County Hospital Thursday afternoon. They being former residents here. In the year 1942 they left for California, where they have made their home. They were visiting his sisters, Mrs. Maggie Heavin of Greencastle and Mrs. Vet Mann, who Is a patient in the hospital, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Hill was bom and reared here.
Sympathy is extended to the Bright family in the loss of Mrs. Bright’s mother, Mrs. Brokamp, who passed away In the Putnam County Hospital.
