Moderne' Swingers The Moderne’ Swingers Square Dance Club danced March 18th to the calling of Sam Greene of Illinois. The Easter theme was carried out with decorations, door prizes and variety of tasty and well choosen foods. The tables were covered and decorated in the pastels and bunny and colored eggs were quite plentiful around the hall. All guests and members received small plastic eggs of various colors, these were placed on the person with a pin and inside of the egg was a number for the door prizes. To the surprise of the adults and children the “Easter Bunny” made an early appearance and gave door prizes to the dancers and eggs to the children. The door prize was a live rabbit, a baby rabbit with pink ears and eyes, somebody is going to be happy to see their parents bring them a bunny from a square dance, and no doubt, a bit surprised . . . . The Easter Bunny was the center of attraction and posed for pictures with the little ones. The Sam Greene dance was a big success boasting ten squares. TV was furnished and the finals were viewed by all interested. Guests came from Crawfordsville, Matoon, Illinois, Terre Haute, Hillsdale, Clinton, Greencastle, Rockville, WavelEind, Clayton, and Bridgeton, Indiana. The “Crosswalkers” captured the Moderne’ Swingers banner and “Covered Bridge Squares” got their own banner back. This is one of the nicest dances the club has had and the members should be very protad. The club wishes to thank the hostesses for their fine work in the Month of March. A special “ Thank You” to the big white Easter Bunny for taking time out to make the scene. Everyone seems to enjoy him very much. April 1st Ray McVay will call for the club.
