Mrs. Macil Asher Rites Wednesday Mrs. Macil Asher, 70, Quincy, passed away in the Putnam County Hospital Sunday morning where she had been a patient since February 26. She was a member of the Quincy Methodist Church and the Quincy Order of Eastern

Leather Toolera Hold Meeting

Toolers met Tuesday, March 14, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Minnick in Bainbridge. President, Jim McCullough, called the meeting to order. The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved. The fair booth was the main topic for the evening. Jim McCullough turned in a billfold he made for an award won by Kent Grimes of Greencastle. Evelyn Baldwin showed a new tool that would help in leather work. We also hope she enjoys her trip to Florida this next week. Edward Minnick gave a demonstration

on dyeing leather.

Congradulations goes to Betty McFarland on a baby girl. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 11, at the Community Building at the fairgrounds.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Quincy. Interment in Mannan Cemetery. Friends may call at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale.

Dies In Florida Mrs. Bruce Corbin, mother of Laurel Corbin, died this morning in Inverness, Florida. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Porter Funeral Home.

Services Held For Glen Ruork Services for Glen Ruark, 40, were held at the Rector Funeral Home at 2 o’clock this afternoon with burial in the Stilesville Cemetery. Mr. Ruark died unexpectedly Friday night at his home north of Fillmore. He was bom August 20, 1926, the son of Chester B. and Ethel Hunter Ruark. A farmer all his life, at the home place, he attended the Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by the wife, Ethel Nichols Ruark; two sons, Rodney Dale, Donald Ray; two daughters, Diana Kay, Debra Ann, all at home; his mother; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Toney and Mrs. Madeline O’Hair, both of Fillmore, Route 1; two brothers, Dorris, Ohio, Roland, Coatesville, Route 2; and his father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nichols, Fillmore, Route 1.

Hugh Harmless Hugh U. Harmless, 70, R. R. 3, Rockville, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at his residence. He was a farmer in the New Discovery neighborhood and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Rockville American Legion Post 48. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Lough, Kokomo; a son, Harris, R. R. 3, Rockville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler Funeral Home, with the Rev, Esten Boyll officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends may rail after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Miss Lotta Thomas, accompanied by Miss Ella Hixson, motored to Vincennes today to attend the funeral services of Miss Gretchen Crook. She was a cousin of Miss Hixson and Jerome Hixson, and a close friend of Miss Thomas, who formerly lived in Vincennes. Steven R. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Jones, Putnamville, has been pledged to Triangle Fraternity. Triangle is an engineering and science fraternity located on the Purdue University Campus, where Steve is a student. He is a 1966 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Dr. Fred Haggerty will open an office for the general practice of medicine at 407 Melrose Avenue, on Saturday, April 1. A 1966 graduate of Indiana University Medical School, Dr. Haggerty has just completed his internship at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. A graduate of La Fontaine High School in 1950, he served in the United States Air Force as a navigator on B-52 bombers from 1952 to 1957. After his discharge, he enrolled at Indiana University, receiving an AB degree in 1961. Dr. Haggerty is a member of the LaFontaine Christian Church and the honorary Scouting society, Order of The Arrow. He and his wife, Lynn, are the parents of two children, Fred, Jr., 11, and Arm, 9. Their home in the Greencastle community will be at 323 Redbud Lane.
