Police-Postal Game Site Relocated

By popular demand for seating capacity, the game between the Police Department and the Post Office employes has been re-located in the high school gym downtown. Many fans wanting to see this classic encounter could not find seats in the Girls’ gym where the game was previously slated, however the local tourney site should provide ample room for all who wish to go. Game time is 7:30 tonight. No admission will be charged for this outstanding display of basketball. Members of the Police team are: Stevens, Pursell, Masten, Rogers and other name stars. Representing the Post Office will be Roland Clark, Charlie Brown, Nick Robinson, Larry Clark and several other past stars.

The Boston Celtics captured the most rebounds in a National Basketball Association season with 6,131 during 1960-61.

Red Kelly, hockey star with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings, has played in 150 Stanley Cup games, more than any other professional hockey player.

season’s county tourney. Cheer leaders: left to right, Sherry Carpenter, Carla Bundy, Jan Stanley. NEW YORK UPI — Don’t look now, but a sharp-shooting San Francisco sophomore is about to replace Wilt Chamberlain as the National Basketball Association’s scoring king. Chamberlain, who had led the NBA in scoring for the last seven seasons, was fourth behind league-leading Rick Barry, Oscar Robertson and Jerry West, according to official league statistics released today through last Sunday’s games. Barry had scored 2,540 points and sported the league’s top scoring average of 36.3 points a game. Cincinnati’s Robertson was the runnerup with 2,207 points and an average of 30.7 points, while West had 1,801 points (29.0) and Chamberlain had 1,760 points (24.4). Chamberlain, however, topped the league in two departments — field goal percentage and rebounding. The giant Philadelphia center had hauled down 1,768 rebounds for a 24.6 average and a healthy margin over Boston’s Bill Russell, who had 1,541 for an average of 21.7.
