Feb. 20 was a red-letter day for the Seniors as they were measured for their caps and gowns. Their long-awaited graduation date is May 21. 147 Now Dead In State Traffic
A truck crashed into a highway truck spreading sand on a slippery highway late Monday night, killing one driver and raising Indiana’s 1967 traffic fatality toll to at least 147 compared with 187 a year ago. Randall Terry, 26, Albion, was hurled from the cab of his big truck when it hit the back of a State Highway Department truck loaded with sand on a
U.S. 30 overpass at Plymouth. Two employes of the highway department were injured and hospitalized. They were George Duff, 62, and Nathan Ash, 30, both of Plymouth. It was Marshall County’s first fatality of the year and the county became the 59th in the state to record at least one traffic death since Jan. 1.

Mankin said Governor Branigin ‘‘has endorsed the principle of sending back a given amount of tax dollars for property tax relief.” Sen. Marlin McDaniel, Republican minority leader, said he also believes that the session will end on time if his colleagues “make up their minds to work harder and avoid the temptation to be more entertaining than instructive.’* Legislatures in the past often have stopped the clocks, pretending not to violate the constitutional provision that regular biennial sessions be limited to 61 calendar days. Sometimes they run hours overtime rather than adjourn without solving important problems.

HERE’S A DOOZIE CHERRY BEDROOM SUITE Just what old George wanted with a cherry tree -- too long a dresser, though, (78") to get inside most bedrooms. Actual list price the man said was $700. We always ticket at one-half price, of course -- that would be $350 (less 1 nickel). It's a beauty.
