Mexican Farm Wife Has Quints MEXICO CITY UPI —, Quintuplets were bom to a fanner’s wife Wednesday, it was disclosed today. One was stillborn. The four surviving infants, all girls, were being brought to Mexico City under government auspices for special hospital care. They were reported in good condition. The babies were bom by candlelight to Mrs. Maria Flores de Ortiz in an adobe hut at Chavarria, a farm hamlet 65 miles southwest of Mexico City, not far from the resort city of Cuernavaca. The 28-year-old mother has three other children, boys 2, 3 and 5. Her husband Pablo, 29, is a farmer and helped Dr. Rafael Gutierrez Jimenez deliver the babies. Gutierrez said he estimated the birth weight of each baby at three pounds. There were no scales for accurate weighing.

Ford Replies To LBJ's Criticism WASHINGTON UPI—House Republican Leader Gerald Ford Friday told President Johnson the GOP has a duty to oppose his policies that it believes are wrong. Ford responded to Johnson’s criticism at his news conference Thursday that the strengthened GOP in Congress seemed to find fault with almost everything he

did.

'The record is clear,” Ford said, “and only a President who expects the loyal opposition to chorus ‘me too’ would fail to get the message. Whenever we believe the President is right, we support him ... we have a duty to oppose the President when we believe he is advocating mistaken policies.” Ford said Republicans “have met him more than halfway in protecting the nation’s interests in national security matters.” Johnson noted that GOP elections gains had given him “quite a different Congress,” and conceded he would have to compromise some with the stronger Republican side.

school, gave a brief description of the qualifications of the officers. The new 1967 officers are as follows: President; Nancy K.! Perkins, Vice-President; Mary Hutchins; Sec. Beth Ludlow; Treasurer, Brenda Hopkins; News Reporter, Anita Perkins; Health & Safety Reporter, Mary Corbin; Long Leader, Carol Hostetter; Recreation Leader, Toni Etcheson. As a first project, it was decided to try to boost our enrollment, as many have quit on account of summer jobs. Dues of 50c must be paid by the deadline now set as the end of school. Next meeting Feb. 7, don’t forget your dues. Reporter: Anita Perkins
