Tex. At An than, Iowa, the bodies of two brothers were found In their car, stalled in a snowdrift. They were apparently victims of carbon monoxide. Marquette, Mich., snow capital of the U.S.A. reported 53 inches of snow oft the ground today. Minnesota, which was covered by nearly three feet of snow in many areas, and Wisconsin where 12-foot drifts were reported, managed to reopen main highways while most secondary roads remained blocked. Duluth, Minn., Where scores of cars had to be stranded in snow banks, reported 30 inches of snow on the ground.

Motel Dynamite Blast Kills 6 LAB VEGAS, NeV. UFI — Investigators today attempted to Identify the last of six persons killed in a dynamite explosion apparently set off by a young Army deserter in a bizarre murder-suicide plot FBI agents said Richard James Paris, 28, missing from his Ft. Ord, Calif., post since Nov. 20. fired a .26 caliber pistol into a bundle ef 60 sticks of dynamite early Saturday in his room at the downtown Orbit inn Motel. Four person* in adjacent rooms Were killed m the blast, as were Paris, a former Los Angeles resident and a Woman believed to be hi* 22-year-old wife, Christine. At least 12 other person* were injured. Dist Atty. George Franklin Jr., said the investigator* were "pretty sure" the dead woman was Paris’ wife because a description by hotel attendants matched information provided by his parents. Fragments of the woman’s body were found but fingerprints were lacking. All other victims were Identified by the FBI by their fingerprints. The other dead were identified as John R. Auwaerter, 61. and his wife, Lillian, 59, Buena Park, Calif., and George Brooks, 67, and his wife, the former Mrs. Amell Thornton, 58, of Sedona, Arts. The Brooks were married the day before the explosion. The explosion ripped out walls at the 147-Uhit, three-level motel, causing an estimated $200,000 damage. It shattered or cracked windows for several blocks in the Fremont Street Casino area.
Wife Straagled Due To Quarrel SALEM, UPI — Ralph Howard, 58, Was held on a preliminary charge of murder here today after admitting to sheriff* officials that he strangled hi* wife, Orpha, 57. Police Chief Don Gold said Howard appeared at the Washington County Jail at about 1 a.m. and told officials he had just strangled his wife. Gold said he drove to the Howard home and found the woman dead. He said a post mortem would be held today. Gold said Howard told police he and his wife had been involved in an argument when he lost his temper and strangled her. He said he then drove to the jail.

Airman Steele, a weapons mechanic, l* a member of the Pacific Air Forces, the nation’s combat-ready air arm guarding the 10,000 * mile Bamboo Curtain. ' Before his arrival In Southeast Asia, he was assigned to the 45th Munitions Maintenance Squadron at Bunker Hill AFB, Indiana. The airman is a graduate of Cloverdale High School.
