els, slightly under the 1965 output of 441,894,000 bushels, but well ahead of the state’s five year average of 336,233,000. Hoosier farmers trailed Iowa and Illinois in total, com production. Iowa’s figure was 901,741.000 and Illinois’ was 835,440.000 bushels. Indiana was sixth in average

The total wheat output for the nation was estimated at 1,056,821.000 bushels of winter wheat and 253,821,000 bushels of spring wheat. These estimates compare with a November all-wheat estimate of 1,295,933,000 bushels and a revised 1965 production of 1.315.613.000 bushels.

The 1965 Wheat crop was made up of 1,017,085,000 bushels of winter wheat and 298,528,000 bushels of spring wheat. The five-year average of the allwheat crop was 1,221,844,000 bushels.
