Bethel Baptist Church enjoyed a very successful revival week of Oct. 16 with seven conversions and one transfer. Jerry Williamson of Terre Haute spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Williamson. Sunday guests were Mrs. Tracy Williamson of Indianapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hutcheson and family of Greeneastle. Twenty-one members of the Senior B.Y.F. accompanied by Rev. and Mrs. Jack McDaniels, Mrs. Wanda Evans and Mrs. Margaret Flater attended a retreat at Winona Lake Thursday until Saturday. General C.W.F. observed their annual “Share a Garment” meeting at the church Thursday afternoon, Oct. 27, with 25 adults and four children present. The speaker was a DePauw exchange student from The Netherlands, who gave a very informative talk about customs In his country. Mrs. Jerry Ready gave the devotions and dedicated the gifts for the Emily Flynn Home for the Aged at Marion. The hostesses, Mrs. Melba Gorham and Mrs. Joyce Custis, nerved dainty refreshments. The Stitch and Chatter Club met Wednesday afternoon, Oct. t6, at the home of Mrs. Callie Casady, with Mrs. Ha Smith hostess, with 16 present. Roll call was “Autumn Verse.” Mrs. Geraldine Barcus sent the entertainment by Mrs. Edith Ruark. Prizes were won by Mrs. Roark, Mrs. Carrie Cline and Mrs. Ruth Sutherlin. On Nov. 16 the club will observe their 63rd anniversary with a 12:30 luncheon at Torr’s. Refreshments were served. Callers on Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wells were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crews and children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wells and familj? of Greeneastle, Mrs. Albert McClure and family of Greeneastle and Mrs. Merle Smythe. Mr. and Mrs. Albert McClure moved over the weekend into the Richard Stewart place which they purchased recently. The Volunteer Fire Department made a run Monday to the home of Ezra Arnold where a tractor and a com picker was practically destroyed. On Friday they were called to the Lois Clark farm where a tractor set a com field on fire, about three acres were burned. On Saturday they were called to a fire in Gib Cox’s corn field on the former Walter Clift place. Jimmy Jackson of Brownsburg visited Sunday with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
