Hie Smorgasbord and bazaar held at Union Chapel Church Saturday evening was well attended. Friends from all parts of the county as well as Indianapolis and Ladoga were present to enjoy the food and fellowship of old and new friends. We wish to thank all who contributed food, who helped serve and for their presence. Mr. and JLrs. Raymond Kendall of Beech Grove were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Irwin and Mrs. Alleen Overstreet and attended the smorgasbord at Union Chapel. Mrs. Maude O’Haver was a Sunday dinner guest of the Irwins. Mr. and Mrs. Don De Ment and daughter of Kenney, HI., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Nicholson. They all attended the State Jersey Sale at Rushville Saturday, The Union Chapel Smorgasbord at Union Chapel Saturday evening and the Rockville Bridge Festival Sunday afternoon. Miss Margaret Nelson and Mrs. Opal Mark spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Whitehead and daughter Linda. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Whitehead and family were Sunday afternoon visitors. Mrs. Rozelle Vermillion spent the day last Wednesday with her mother, Mrs. Roscoe White. Mr. and Mrs. Max Call and sons of near Roachdale were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Call. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Regan were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Clodfelter of Detroit spent the week end at their summer cottage near Clinton Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Yochum and Mrs. D. P. Alexander shopped in Indianapolis last Friday sind had dinner in the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Crodian. Mrs. Janet O’Hair and son visited Mrs. Donna Jefferies and children last Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Albin accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Priest of Crawfordsville out for Sunday dinner. The occasion was celebration of the Priests’ wedding anniversary. Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Stevens were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cress of Amo. Paul Haden Clodfelter and family of Chicago were week end guests of Paul’s mother, Airs. Carl Clodfelter, Sunday being Mrs. Clodfelter’s birthday, she was very much surprised Sunday noon when she, Paul and family arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Clodfelter, G r e e n c a stle and found about 40 guests congregated in the the home including her children, relatives and friends. New Maysville Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leak visited on Saturday with his sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. George Rhansucber at Indianapolis and his cousin from North Dakota and spent Saturday night with their son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Leak and family and on. Sunday called on Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Cooper at Plainfield at a Open House. Mr. and Mrs. John P. McGuire and family visited on Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. McGuire. Mrs. Sam Dove from Bainbridge called at the home of her son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Dove. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Henderson and children of near Avon spent Thursday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John McGuire. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nichols and family spent Sunday with his mother and husband Mr. and Mrs. Byrd at Connersville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leak and Grandson Darrell Hart spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lay at Roachdale other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Junior Bur dire and children. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ward during the week were Mr. and Mrs .Bob Leak, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nichols, Darrell and Vicki Hart and Roy Weller. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ward made a business trip to Michigan Saturday afternoon.

Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett visited Mrs. Mae Phipps of Jasonville Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Mae Truex of Mt. Meridian visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Goode. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Hurst and daughter Carolyn were Sunday guests of the Goodes. They all attended the Rockville Bridge Festival Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Barker and son Dale visited Mrs. Mary Barker of Rockville Sunday afternoon. Dick Barker returned home with them after spending several days with his mother. Mrs. Ivyl McGaughey o f Russellville was a weekend visitor of her son Huber and family and attended the bazaar at Union Chapel Church. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stultz and sons and Mr. and Mrs. George Stultz and son were Sunday afternoon visitors and Sunday evening dinner guests of Mrs. I Dewey Stultz.

Miss Carolyn Mandleco planned and carried out a surprise party in honor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Mandeco Sr’s, twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on Thursday evening. Many relatives and friends attended to offer congratulations and wish them many more anniversaries. Mrs. Jo Ford entertained the

Democrat Women’s Club Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brothers attended a PTA meeting in Roachdale Monday evening. Mrs. Osa Grider and Mrs. Mary V. Clodfelter were on the sick list last week. Garry cotrman spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grider. Mrs. Olive Baird and Mrs.

Nona Kouth attended the Scribner Sale last week in Russellville. David, Kathy and Brad Kelly the great-grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fosher and i Mr. and Mrs. Leon Myers visited the Foshers Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Tva Shannon Todd is visiting her brother, Kenneth Shannon and family and Mrs. Nona Routh. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Boiler visited her mother. Mrs. Barnes in Terre Haute Sunday afternoon. now as the owner, Mrs. Alice Keck auctioned her stock of goods Friday to the bare walls. Thursday while in Crawfordsville, Mrs. Mary Virginia Clodfelter had the misfortune of getting her car badly damaged at an intersection of College and Water Streets. The Fincastle Country Club is sponsoring a baby shower in honor of Mrs. Harold Lieske and baby LuAnne in the evening of Oct. 2nd in the Community House. The public is invited. No invitations will be sent out. Saturday visitors of Mrs.

Olive Baird and sons were Harvey Risk of Lafayette and Doug Baird. Mrs. Verna Miller spent the weekend with the Leland Cox family in Danville. Mrs. Mary Virginia Clodfelter and Mrs. Maude Brothers accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Gene Clodfelter and family to Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brothers and daughters were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brothers and family.
