The first time I was ever on

There were two things at least that helped him to the Presidency: First, he was our great leader in World War II and second, a chant was started that echoed from coast to coast: “We like
Ike.”
On a scenic, paved road that
leads from Banff, Alberta, In western Canada, the traveler, as he heads north, will stop to see and to take a picture of Mount Eisenhower. The mountain stands with snow covered summit over ten thousand feet into cold, thin air. It is a rugged mountain named for a rugged soldier, a statesman, educator, farmer, and national advisor. Last Thursday morning fortytwo ladies of the Amo-Coates-ville Demonstration Club made their annual pilgrimage, this time to Richmond. A stop was made at the Little House where there was on exhibit the work of mental patients of a Richmond Hospital.

small son, Jimmie, of Btilesville. The Coatesville Library Board held their monthly meeting at the local library Monday evening, October 3. Those in attendance were John Bomber, i Mable Davidson. John Gambold, i Ruth Owens and Louise Phil- ' lips. The Coatesville Community Kindergarten started Monday, ; October 3, in the downstairs assembly room of the Civic Building. The number of youngsters enrolled was 17. School begins at 8:15 and dismisses at 11:15, : and the school days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The teacher this year is Mrs. Clifford Phillips. She has a col-
lege degree, has had public school and kindergarten teaching experience. Soybeans are coming to the local elevator in long truck processions since there has been some drying weather. Those who handle the beans report that the quality is good and the average will run about thirty bushels per acre. Do you have your walnuts hulled and drying for winter? You may not realize it but they are scarce this year. A drive of four miles over a road that has as many as fifteen roadside trees revealed no more than two bushels of walnuts in the hull.
