Meeting Held By New Maysville Club
The New Maysville Community Club met at the home of Mrs. Eleanor McMullen for their September meeting. The newly elected president, Mrs. Florence Lasley, opened the meeting by reading a poem, “The Greatest of These.” The leader for devotions being absent the president gave a reading “The Hidden Hand of God.” The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read. The new program books for 1966-67 were passed out and dues collected. Several bills were presented and allowed. The business meeting closed with the collect. < Mrs. Nona Grantham had charge of the program. She asked her daughter, Florence, to tell something of their vacation trip out West. Some inter-
jection for the next 10 years by Dr. Rammel indicated the Junior High building has insufficient classrooms to accommodate the growing school population. The Board entertained the idea of permitting the 9th grade to attend the Senior High. If this is done, Dr. Rammel indicated the Junior High building could handle the 7th and 8th grades for the next 10 years, and the Senior High building could get by for a year or two. Also, there is a possibility of building 6 additional classrooms in the gym located in the Senior High building when the new addition is completed. A contract was signed for a Special Education teacher for one-half day for one semester. This completes the teaching staff for 1966-67.

—Gemini 11 (Continued from Page 1) were receiving less radiation than that received by Gemini 10 when it attained the previous altitude mark of 475 miles in July. Tuesday, Gordon took a spacewalk — America’s fourth — In which he straddled the docking cone of the Agena rocket like a cowboy on a horse to fasten a 100-foot tether between the two vehicle*. But, partially blinded by his own sweat and fatigued by the exertion of walking in space, he had tq cut the planned 115minute spacewalk by two-thirds. “I’m pooped,” said the 36-year-old Gordon — even before he got out of the Gemini 11 hatch to start his spacewalk. A few minutes later, Conrad ordered him back in because sweat was pouring off him and had blinded him in the right eye. The astronauts slept soundly about six hours and then woke up about 1:25 a.m. EDT today to prepare to shoot into the big looping orbit. The previous altitude record belonged to Gemini 10 astronauts Michael Collins and John W. Young, who hit 475 miles from earth in July.
