A-Bomb Tests Elates De Gaulle POINTE - A - PITRE, Guadeloupe UPI—President Charles de Gaulle, still elated about the j "magnifique” French A-bomb test he witnessed in the Pacific,: stopped here Tuesday en route to Paris at the end of his round the world tour. French officials meanwhile announced plans to detonate another atomic device Wednesday over the Mururoa atoll 800 miles southeast of Tahiti where De Gaulle Sunday witnessed the explosion of a 120-kiloton atom bomb, six times more powerful than the one dropped on Hiro-
shima.
Resembling a towering science fiction character in his grey boiler suit and heavy goggles, De Gaulle watched the last from the deck of the French cruiser de Grasse and declared; "C’est magnifique ... I am happy. I am proud of you.” The test was the grand finale of De Gaulle’s three-week, 27,000 mile worldwide tour. He was due to arrive in Paris tonight (9 p.m. EDT).
