Bainbridge Rites For Mrs. Watson Mrs. Beulah Watson, 53, Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday morning at the Putnam County Hospital where she had been admitted Monday afternoon. Mrs. Watson was bom in Casey, Kentucky, January 14, 1913, the daughter of Theodore and Mintie Smith Watson. She was married December 11, 1929 to Odes Watson and £ad lived in Bainbridge for the past twenty-six years. Survivors are: the husband; two children, Mrs. Paul Hedge and W. T. Watson, Bainbridge; seven sisters, Mrs. John W T arj;en, Bainbridge; Mrs. Lewis Wesley, Mrs. Edward Hedge, Mrs. Everett Todd, Mrs. George McDonald, Mrs. Edward Able and Mrs. Wesley Goforth, all of Kentucky; two brothers, Theodore and Naman Watson of Ohio and three grandchildren. • Funeral services are in charge of Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home in Bainbridge.
Ex-Teacher Dies George (“Pat’*) Patterson, 64, Rosedale, died at 2:00 a. m. Tuesday in Union Hospital in Terre Haute after an illness of several months. Mr. Patterson taught music in the public schools of this area for 32 years, retiring in April of this year because of poor health. He was music instructor of the •Rosedale High School for 25 years, and spent the remaining 7 years at Bainbridge High School. He was a graduate of Arthur Jordon Conservatory of Music where he taught violin for three years and a graduate of Butler University. He also attended Indiana State University and Purdue University. Mr. Patterson was a member of the Rosedale Methodist Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, the North Putnam Classroom Teachers Association, the Association Childhood Education, and Phi Mu Alpha, Senfonic Fraternity, a National Honorary Musical Fraternity. He was a member of Rosedale Masonic Lodge No. 259. Surviving are the widow, Virginia, a teacher of Vigo County Schools, one son George of Brazil, Indiana; one daughter Anita Higgins of Bainbridge, ond one grandson. Services are pending at the Cottrell Funeral Home at Rosedale.

Miss Sara Hanna, who spent the past school year studying in Europe, flew home Friday. She is the daughter of Mrs. G. W. Hanna. Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Myrtle B. j Arthur, 91, of Paris, Illinois, | on Saturday evening. Survivors are one - stepdaughter, Mrs. Louise Sunkel and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held today at 2 p. m. in Paris. Dr. John Ricketts of DePauw University will present a paper at a symposium sponsored by the American Chemical Society in New York City Sept. 12. Director of graduate studies and a professor of chemistry at DePauw, Ricketts will discuss the selection and judging of students pursuing master’s work in chemistry. Dr. and Mrs. J. Edmund White and children, Janet, Jimmy and Douglas, left Saturday for New York, where they will sail September 15th for London, England. Dr. White will be teaching and studying at the University of London. He is a chemist Mrs. White will be doing research work on her Ph.D. degree and the children will be entered in school at London. They have been visiting Mrs. White’s mother, Mrs. Ruth Evans, while in Greencastle. Mrs. Evans has just returned from Winter Haven, Fla.

Active Tri Kappa will meet tonight at 8 p. m. with Mrs. James Loveless. Mrs. Edna Hayes Taylor and Miss Ella Hixson were in Indianapolis Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Coleman of Springfield, Ill, spent Friday night and Saturday with A. L. Coleman. The NFO monthly meeting will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 8th at 8:00 p. m. at Sherm’s Implement Sales. Mrs. Dietz, well known housemother at Roberts Hall, has returned to Greencastle after having spent the summer at her summer home in Minnesota. Theta Chapter of Delta Theta Tau will meet tonight at 8 o’clock at the home of Mrs. John See with Mrs. Charles Mays as assisting hostess. The Monthly Business meeting of Union Valley Baptist Church will be Thursday night Sept. 8th, following prayer services, as there were not enough present to have one last week. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Curd, of Owensboro, Kentucky, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sayers the past week end. They brought their son, Dan, to enroll at DePauw University. The Castle Topper Home Demonstration Club will meet Wednesday evening at 7:30 p. m. with Mrs. Vivian Murray at 901 Draper. A salad lesson will be given. All members please be present. Mr. and Mrs. John Denovchek and family have returned to their home in Warren, Ohio after viisting Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hendrich of Bainbridge, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke Hendrich of Greencastle, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hendrich of Fillmore and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. William R. Padget motored to Iowa City, la., Saturday to visit their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Clodfelter. Mrs. Clodfelter’s sister, Barbara, had spent recent weeks with them, and she returned to Greencastle Monday with her parents.

The Victorian home of Mrs. Mary Frances Strain and children lent atmosphere to a pitchin supper Sunday evening for members of the cast and crew of “The Miracle Worker.” A large key ring with keys engraved to spell out the title of the play, was presented by the cast to their director, Dr. James Elrod. Susan, Francel, J. F., and Melodic assisted their mother as hosts to thirty guests.

Attends Fair School Sandy Sibbitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sibbitt, Fillmore, has been attending State Fair School for the past ten days. The group consisting of about 300 girls from Indiana has attended the L. S. Ayres’ style show, Sesquicentennial Pageant and the State Fair Queen
contest. She has been an active 4-H member for nine years and I is president of the County Junior Leader Organizations. She has won many honors including the National 4-H Club Congress trip to Chicago. She is a 1966 graduate of Bainbridge High SchooL This was written in the communications class at State Fair School for Girls.
