The heart pump was inserted by a team of heart surgeons led by Dr. Michael DeBakey in a four-hour operation Monday. In the surgery, the mitral and aortic valves in Mrs. Vasquez’ heart were replaced. She has progressed much further than had Marcel L. De Rudder, 65, a Westville, 111., coal miner or Walter L. McCans, 61, of Woodinville, Wash. DeRudder died of a lung rupture 111 hours after his operation. McCans survived 67 hours and died of massive lung bleeding.
Blood tests showed Mrs. Vasques’ blood had net been damaged and her lungs were clear.
Spacecraft On Course To Moon PASADENA, Calif, UPI — America’s lunar Orbiter spacecraft sped on its photographic mission close to the moon today in an effort to help find a suitable and safe landing spot for astronauts. The unmanned 850-pound vehicle was launched from Cape Kennedy Wednesday and all reports pointed to success in the plan to send back to earth 353 closeup pictures ef the moon’s surface.

Holdup Suspects EAST CHICAGO UPI — Two suspects were arrested by East Chicago police Wednesday in connection with a $2,000 robbery at the Riley Insurance Co. Identified as suspects are Charles Frith, 26, East Chicago, and Arthur Lewis, 28, Gary.
It was planned that initial 1 Lewis was listed in good condi-
: tion after suffering a gun 1 wound in the neck when ho was
shot as ho fled from police.
! The suspects were arrested two hours after the robbery. Police said that one man stationed himself at the entrance with a small revolver while the other jumped over a teller’s cage and scooped the money out of the till. Witnesses gave police the license number of the getaway car and the pair were
located witjiin an hour.
