[man 4. Smith Funeral Tuesday Mrs. Emma Alice Smith, 99, died at the Putnam County Hospital, on Saturday at 3 p. m. She was born June 1st, 1867, in Putnam County, the daughter of Uriah and Adeline Alexander Gasaway. Mrs. Smith was the oldest living member of the Methodist Church in Reelsville before her • death on Saturday. She is survived by one daughter, Pauline, who was Greencastle School Nurse for 27 years, and with whom she made ‘ Tier home on South Arlington Street. Other survivors are two grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. ; Mrs. Smith was preceded in •death by her husband, Henry Morton Smith, in 1935; two sons, Guy and William, and two daughters, Kyle and Mary. Funeral services will be held at the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home in Greencastle on Tuesday morning at 10:00 o’clock, with burial in the Reelsville Cemetery. Rev. Larry Trueblood and Rev. Phillip Badger will opficiate. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.

Services Tuesday For Inez Heavin Mrs. Inez G. Heavin, 82 of 402 South Jackson Street, passed away Saturday evening at the Putnam County Hospital after a four weeks illness. Mrs. Heavin was bom in New Winchester and resided near there and in Coatesville before moving to Greencastle in 1927. She and her husband, the late Ernest Heavin, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1954. He preceded her in death December 2, 1963. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Monday Club and Penelope Club. Survivors are four children, Mrs. Kathryn Large of Worthington, James Heavin of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Betty Lou Giltz and Elbert Heavin of Greencastle. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the Rector Funeral Home. Dr. Frank Helme will be in j charge of the services.

Rites Held For Gilbert Pettit Services for Gilbert Pettit, 58, were held this afternoon at the Whitaker Funeral Home with Rev. Paul M. Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Fertig Cemetery in Owen County. Mr. Pettit, who died early Saturday morning, was born in Putnam County July 8, 1908, the son et George and Bonnie Asher Pettit. He had been In poor health for aeveral years but had recently been employed as house man at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house. Survivors include his wife. Wife, Ruth Harris Pettit; his father, Indianapolis; five daughters, Betty Phelps, Indianapolis, Marjorie Grimes, Reelsville, Barbara Alexander, Carol Sutberlin, July Campbell, all of this fity; three brothers, Harold and Kenneth, city, Herman, Indianapolis, and n sister, Christine Ort, Indianapolis.
