M. Dorsett’s touring car, Mrs. C. M. Dorsett was thrown against the top of the machine and had a bone in her nose broken. Mr. Dorsett was running the car at a modern speed when he ran upon a sharp hump in the road. Mrs. Dorsett accidentally hit a bow in the top when she was bounced out of her seat. * • • “A horse show was the feature on the Fourth of July when Cambridge had its celebration. It was the only county town to celebrate the day. A splendid lot of horses was on exhibition and a large crowd was in town to make the event a most successful one. Other attractions were a Jesse James show and lots of fireworks, with the Bainbridge band furnishing music for the events.” • * • “The first threshing machine of the season to be seen in Greencastle passed through the square this morning. Hie outfit, owned and operated by Leon Austin, who lives on the Bicknell farm south of town, was on its way to the Andrew Black farm, west of town, where threshing of wheat was begun.” • • • While glancing through the old files I saw a headline that read: “Mule Commits Suicide.” The story went on to say the animal ran into a motor machine (car) at a rapid speed and was killed. 8 * * “The ‘Drys* fired their first gun in the liquor campaign Wednesday evening when they pledged $400 in less than fifteen minutes at their meeting held in the city library for the purposes of organization. The aim of the organization being to raise $1,000 which they will use in fighting the re-entrance •f the saloon into Greencastle.”

The following is an advertisement which appeared the World _ my litUe girl had dysentery very bad. 1 thought she would die. Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhea Remedy cured her, and I can truthfully say that I think it is the best medicine in the world,' writes Mrs. William Orvis, Clare, Michigan.” 1 think we need more of the medicine today. * • * We think the weather is hot here (which it is) — read what happened in June, 1913. “With the close of June, one of the hottest months since records have been kept of monthly temperatures, came to an end. There being more days in last month in which the temperature reached 90 degrees or more, on the 29th the hottest June day in the history of the weather bureau was recorded.” • * * If anyone has a record of a more unusual fire, please inform us at the Banner. We would enjoy printing it. “The most unusual cause of fire that has yet been reported to the state fire marshall at Indianapolis came from a deputy at Ingalls, Indiana. The fire reported was that of a barn belonging to Davy Thomas and the cause was given as ‘Boy with matches trying to fry a frog.’ The barn and contents were destroyed and it it presumed, although the report is not specific on that point, that the frog was thoroughly cooked.”
