MOSCOW UPI—Soviet track and basketball teams canceled scheduled meets with American teams in the United States this month to “protest against American bombing of Hanoi,” the official Soviet news agency Tass reported. American Embassy officials said there would be no reaction until they had been officially informed. Members of the Soviet track team, who received their U. S. visas last week, were scheduled to leave today. They were to b« in Los Angeles in time for training before meeting the American team July 23-24. The departure was canceled, according to Soviet sources, after the 80 athletes held a mass meeting and passed a resolution condemning American "Aggression’ ’in North Viet Nam. The sources said the Soviet athletes then decided to cancel the traditional "battle of the giants” with their American rivals. It was believed that an American swimming team due to arrive here tomorrow to compete in a 10-nation meet this weekend would cancel out in retaliation.
