Wants July Showdown WASHINGTON UPI — The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, arming lor a July 14 showdown, claims some of its members should be let in on Central Intelligence Agency CIA operations because they ‘‘could mean the difference between war and peace.” The CIA has moved into ‘‘many types of activities which were not contemplated when it was created,” the committee said in a report Tuesday. And some of these “have had serious implications for U. S. foreign policy.” The report detailed the reasoning behind a previously approved committee resolution to add three of its members to the Senate panel which now oversees CIA activities. The resolution would create a committee on intelligence operations composed of three members each from the Foreign Relations, Armed Services, and Appropriations Committees. Three members from each of the latter two comprise the present CIA panel.
