Day Comp Held At fern Cliff The Girt Scouts of Putnam County ended a week of Day Camping with each unit entertaining at a Campfire program last Friday evening. Two hundred and forty-two girls enjoyed a week of hiking, nature study, camp craft, dancing, singing and cooking. The girls made name tags, named their unit, decorated a flag to be posted by their camp site and helped plan menus, gathered wood and cleaned up. Each unit had a color and the girls wore head bands, bows, scarfs or badges made by the adults. Several senior Scouts worked as program aides. There were two or three adult counselors with the fifteen units and a nursery for the younger children was cared for by a Cadette troop. Mrs. James Shepherd and Mrs. Leo Proctor were directors. Mrs. Wm. Cook, grocery shopper, Mrs. Robert Weiss, craft director and Mrs. Robert Jackson, registrar. Day Camp was a success this year and the thanks goes to the adult counselors who gave a week of their time helping these girls enjoy the out-of-doors. Sees Deem la Drug Busiaass SAN FRANCISCO UPI—The Nation’s most outspoken defender of the virtues of LSD has called on Che government to get ready for a boom in the use of the hallucinatory drug. Dr. Timothy Leary, a former Harvard professor, said that two million doses will be introduced into California alone this month. He said millions of persons will soon be using LSD “on their own,” something of which Leary Is critical. Leary, who says he has gone on 311 LSD “trips” himself, told a conference on Psychedelic drugs that “the best students in the best universities” are the leading users of LSD. He said highest consumption per capita was at Harvard. The way to lessen the potential dangers of LSD, he suggested, is to evolve some governmental system of licensing persons who wish to take it in their homes.

Lengthy Problem DENVER UPI—One of the largest legal exhibits in Denver Courthouse history posed a problem—how to get it into the courtroom. The evidence is a 17-foot telephone pole which was snapped in half by a low-flying airplane.
