INDIANAPOLIS UPI — The Indiana high school basketball "All Stars” opened intensive practice with coach Cleon Reynolds serving notice the Hoosiers will shoot for a two-game sweep over Kentucky in their annual mid-summer benefit classic. Reynolds, coach and athletic director at Marian College, took over the coaching chore from Indiana Central’s Angus Nicoson, who piloted Hoosier teams for 14 years but surrendered the post this year because of administrative duties. The Indiana Stars, selected by the state’s sportswriters and broadcasters, reported to Reynolds Wednesday and promptly went through a 90-minute workout Reynolds indicated he was generally satisfied with the
physical condition of his club but warned his players they are already “four weeks behind Kentucky,” which has no seasonal sports restrictions. The opener of the two-game series will be staged at Louisville June 18, and the return scrap is here one week later. Indiana is led by Lebanon’s sharp-shooting Rick Mount, wiio reported with his left hand taped because of a recent traffic accident. However, Mount will be ready to go and quickly demonstrated he has lost none of his shooting prowess. This year’s Hoosier club is considered one of the best ever put together, but Reynolds warned that hand-picked Kentucky will be hard to beat “no matter w T hat you hear.”
